    Derrick Brooms named to All-America teams

    Fourth-year College student Derrick Brooms has been named to the All-America football teams of Hewlett-Packard and Football Gazette.

    He was named to Hewlett-Packard's first team as a kick returner, and to the honorable-mention team selected by Football Gazette.

    Brooms led the NCAA Division III in kickoff returns this past season, and his 99.6 receiving yards per game ranked 10th in the nation. A two-time University Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Year, Brooms holds or shares 20 Chicago records, including career records for most receiving yards (1,889), most receiving touchdowns (23), most points (196) and most total touchdowns (32).
