Police make arrest for flag burning
An individual accompanied by two others was arrested Saturday, Nov. 13, as he was burning the rainbow flag at the Chicago Theological Seminary, 5757 S. University Ave.
The seminary displays the flag to symbolize its support for members of the gay and lesbian community.
He has been charged with criminal damage to property. The other two individuals were released.
The University Police and the Chicago police have had the area around the church under surveillance, and the University issued a security alert after repeated incidents of vandalism to the flag. University Police and Chicago police say they will continue to closely monitor this situation.
