Call for democracy

Wei Jingsheng, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, visited the University last Thursday and Friday, following an invitation from the student-run Political Union. Above, Wei, who came to campus as a Kovler Visiting Fellow, speaks with a group of Chinese-speaking students before his public lecture on Thursday, Oct. 14. The exiled, Chinese dissident also participated in a workshop sponsored by the Human Rights Program at the University.
