Rekindling the past

Heisman Trophy winner Jay Berwanger (top photo, at left) and Gerald Ratner (directly above, at right) joined Homecoming ’99 as honorary co-captains. The two men are University alumni and former football and baseball players for the Maroons. A generous gift from Ratner will help build the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center.
