Stagg parking lot temporarily expands

Work began Monday, Aug. 9, at the Stagg parking lot at 55th Street and Ellis Avenue, which is temporarily being expanded into the tennis courts to accommodate vehicles that will be relocated from the Ellis Avenue parking lot. Vehicles will be relocated from the Ellis lot to allow construction of a new parking structure there.

Illinois Paving has begun preparing the tennis courts to receive vehicles. The companyÕs work will include patching the existing surface, seal coating, constructing a ramp and walkways, removing the fence at the eastern edge of the courts and separating the courts.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed in one week.
