    Convocation: Here's the who, when and where

    The schedule for the 452nd Convocation is as follows:

    First session, Friday, June 12, 10 a.m.: Irving B. Harris Graduate School of Public Policy Studies, Law School, School of Social Service Administration. Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. Convocation address by Jonathan Lear, the John U. Nef Distinguished Service Professor in the Committee on Social Thought.

    Second session, Friday, June 12, 3 p.m.: Divinity School; Humanities, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences divisions; Pritzker School of Medicine; Graham School for Continuing Studies. Includes presentation of honorary degrees. Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. Convocation address by Jonathan Lear.

    Third session, Saturday, June 13, 10 a.m.: College. Harper Quadrangle. In the event of inclement weather, Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. Call 834-2836, or check the Convocation website, www2.uchicago.edu/adm-spec-events/Convocation, after 7 a.m. Saturday to verify location. Convocation address by Jonathan Lear.

    Fourth session, Sunday, June 14, 3 p.m.: Graduate School of Business. Harper Quadrangle. In the event of inclement weather, Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. Call 702-2513, or check the Convocation website, www2.uchicago.edu/adm-spec-events/Convocation, after 7 a.m. Sunday to verify location. Convocation address by Marvin Zonis, Professor in the Graduate School of Business.

    Degree candidates will assemble in Bartlett Gymnasium, 5640 S. University Ave. Bartlett will be open 90 minutes before each session for degree candidates to assemble; candidates not present in the gym at least 45 minutes before the ceremonies begin will not be permitted to march.

    Those who have ordered gowns may pick them up in Reynolds Club between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. today, June 11; between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday, June 12; between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Saturday, June 13; and between noon and 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 14.

    The chapel doors will open 45 minutes before each indoor session begins, and 45 minutes before sessions three and four begin in the event of inclement weather. Open seating for outdoor sessions will begin 90 minutes before each ceremony begins.

    In case of rain, the third (College) and fourth (GSB) sessions will be televised live in Mandel Hall, Breasted Hall, Kent Hall, Max Palevsky Cinema, the Law School and the Donnelley Biological Sciences Learning Center. Admission to all locations for all ceremonies is by ticket only.
