Vaclav Klaus, chairman of the Civic Democratic Party and former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, will present the 1998 George J. Stigler Memorial Lecture, "The Preaching of George Stigler, Communism and Its Transformation," at 4 p.m. Monday, May 4, in Mandel Hall. Admission is free but by ticket only. MONDAY, MAY 4 Cuauhtemoc Cardenas 6 p.m., Rockefeller Chapel

Cuauhtemoc Cardenas, Governor of the Federal District of Mexico City, will give the address "Mexico in the 21st Century: Perspectives for the Future," at 6 p.m. Monday, May 4, in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. The doors to the chapel will close at 5:45 p.m. Cardenas is a leading figure of the Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRD), Mexico's principal center-left party. See story on page 5.
