    Winter Convocation March 20

    460 students to receive degrees at ceremony Winter Convocation ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, March 20, in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. Approximately 460 degrees will be conferred.

    Kevin Murphy (Ph.D.'86), the George Pratt Shultz Professor in the Graduate School of Business, will present the Convocation address, "Education and Work." Murphy was the recipient of the 1997 John Bates Clark Medal of the American Economic Association, awarded once every two years to the most outstanding American economist under age 40.

    Degree candidates should enter the chapel through the carriage drive door and proceed to the basement. Candidates not present in the basement by 2:15 p.m. will not be permitted to march. The main doors of the chapel will open at 2:15 p.m.; no guests will be admitted before then.

    Tickets for Convocation must be claimed in person by degree candidates; they may be picked up Monday, March 16, through noon on Friday, March 20, at the Dean of Students' Office for the candidate's division or school or at the College Advisers' Desk. Those who have ordered gowns may pick them up in the south lounge on the second floor of Reynolds Club between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, and between 8:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Friday, March 20.
