Chanticleer brings a cappella sounds to campus Feb. 27

The University's Professional Concert Series will bring the critically acclaimed male a cappella group Chanticleer to campus on Friday, Feb. 27, for the group's first University appearance.

Chanticleer will perform "Chant By Candlelight," a concert of Gregorian chant interspersed with lamentation motets from the Renaissance Period. Consisting of selections from their best-selling CD, Mysteria, the concert will follow the progression of the Holy Season, from Ash Wednesday and Lent through Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter, finishing with a selection in honor of the Virgin Mary and a Hymn of Thanksgiving.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. in Rockefeller Chapel. Tickets are $22, $9 for students, and can be purchased by calling the Professional Concert Series office at 702-8068.
