New head volleyball coach at helm

Christine Masel has been named head women's volleyball coach. Masel comes to Chicago from the Christian Brothers University in Memphis, where she served as head women's volleyball coach last season.

Masel, who received her B.A. in mechanical engineering from Washington University in 1994, was a four-year letter winner (1990-93) for the school's volleyball team, which claimed three NCAA Division III titles and four UAA championships. She also has served as head women's volleyball coach at Eastfield (Texas) College and as head boys' volleyball coach at St. Marks (Texas) Prep School.

She succeeds Rosalie Resch, women's volleyball coach for 21 years and a two-time UAA Coach of the Year. Resch continues to serve as Associate Athletic Director for Financial Affairs.
