Lab Schools to honor Currie

State Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie (A.B.'68, A.M.'73) will be honored with the U-High/Laboratory Schools Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni award on Nov. 8 at the Palmer House.

Currie, State Representative of the 25th District, which includes Hyde Park, is currently Majority Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives. A 1958 graduate of the Lab Schools, she is being recognized for her contributions to the development of public policy in Illinois.

Currie is one of two alumni being recognized that evening. Also being honored is Jess Levine, a 1962 graduate of the schools who has been an active volunteer at the Lab Schools and a supporter of projects for disadvantaged youths in Chicago.
