Nominations sought for Alumni BoardNominations are being solicited for positions on the Alumni Association's Board of Governors. The alumni board sets policy for the association and advises the University on matters of interest to alumni. Candidates selected by a nominating committee, chaired by Caroline Heck (A.B.'71), will be submitted to the Board of Governors for election to two-year terms commencing July 1997. In reviewing the nominations, the committee will try to ensure that the board is as fully representative of the alumni population as possible by taking into account such factors as geographic location, academic degree and date of graduation. Nominations should include a one- or two-paragraph description of the nominee and should outline the nominee's past service to the University. Nominations, due no later than Friday, March 7, should be sent to Nominating Committee, University of Chicago Alumni Association, 1313 E. 60th St., Chicago, IL 60637, or faxed to 702-2166.
