Hunger Walk will tour historic areas, benefit local agencies

The fourth annual MidSouth Hunger Walk, a historic eight kilometer trek through Woodlawn and Jackson Park, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27.

The walk will begin at First Presbyterian Church, 6400 S. Kimbark Ave., and will end at St. Gelasius School, 6358 S. Blackstone Ave. Registration is at 1 p.m. and the walk will begin at 2 p.m.

The walk will raise funds to be shared by 11 local agencies -- including the University chapter of Oxfam -- that serve hundreds of homeless and hungry mid-South Side residents year-round.

Each walker will receive an annotated brochure and map identifying historic buildings and sites along the route. For more information, and to receive pledge sheets, call 752-1911. All walkers are welcome; pledge sheets are not required.
