    United Way contributions top $243,000

This year's contributions to the University's Campaign for the United Way and Other Charities total more than $243,000.

"We deeply appreciate the charitable gifts made by members of the University community," said Henry Webber, Associate Vice President for Administration and campaign coordinator. "As they have in so many years past, our faculty and staff members have displayed their strong commitment to bettering the welfare of others."

A raffle was held Feb. 5 for employees who had contributed to the University's Campaign for the United Way and Other Charities up to that date. This year's top raffle prize, two round-trip tickets to Tampa, Orlando or New York City, donated by Kiwi Airlines, went to William Hogan, University Comptroller and Associate Vice President for Administrative Computing. Prizes were also awarded to 42 other University employees.

Through the University's United Way and Other Charities Campaign, members of the faculty and staff may support any charity they choose, including the more than 400 United Way agencies as well as any other established charity in the United States. Contributions are accepted throughout the year. Options include lump-sum contributions and payroll deductions. For information on how to contribute, call Karen Rosselli at 702-9600.
