    Giving turns to gifts for United Way contributors

    A raffle was held Monday, Feb. 5, for employees who had contributed to the University's United Way and Other Charities Campaign up to that date. Contribution totals for this year's campaign will be announced in the next issue of the Chronicle.

    This year's top raffle prize, two round-trip tickets to Tampa, Orlando or New York City, donated by Kiwi International Airlines, went to William Hogan, University Comptroller and Associate Vice President for Administrative Computing.

    Other raffle winners and their prizes are:

    Sharon Koontz -- A weekend in the V.I.P. Suite at Regents Park in Hyde Park (based upon availability), donated by Regents Park by the Clinton Company.

    Ivan Jureta and Eugene Fama -- Three-month club memberships in the Regents Club in Hyde Park, a health club with an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, Cybex equipment, aerobics and more, donated by Regents Park by the Clinton Company.

    Janet Barajas -- One-month club membership in Regents Club.

    George Boone -- One deli tray worth up to $25 from Market in the Park, located in Hyde Park, donated by Regents Park by the Clinton Company.

    Mindy Statter -- A Bulls sports bag, donated by the Chicago Bulls.

    Richard Kessler -- An inaugural program autographed by Chris Chelios, donated by the Chicago Blackhawks.

    John Light -- An autographed Media Guide, donated by the Chicago Bears.

    Evelyn Steward -- An autographed picture of Tim Raines, donated by the Chicago White Sox.

    Sherwin Rosen -- An autographed picture of Kirk McCaskill, donated by the Chicago White Sox.

    Vreni Naess -- A dinner gift certificate, donated by Hyde Park's Piccolo Mondo Cafe.

    Richard Larson, Edwina Simmons, Daniel Schuch and Kathleen Zar -- Four $25 grocery certificates for Mr. G's Finer Foods, donated by Bill Gerstein of Mr. G's, located in Hyde Park.

    Denise Duncan -- The New Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, donated by the Seminary Co-op Bookstore.

    Margaret Gober -- One $25 gift certificate, donated by the International House gift shop.

    Charles Weber -- One pair of tickets to a performance of Shakespeare's King Henry IV at Court Theatre, donated by Court Theatre.

    Margaret Mahan and Eric Bieber -- Two subscriptions to the four-concert Contemporary Chamber Players Series, donated by the Department of Music.

    Ole Kleppa, Jane McKeever, Jonathan Kleinbard, Nancy Knowles and Allen Sanderson -- Five $50 gift certificates, donated by the University Bookstore.

    Jeanne Corey -- One T-shirt and coffee mug, donated by the David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art.

    Steven Ray -- One free athletic pass for the 1996-97 academic year, donated by Physical Education & Athletics.

    Irene Kennedy -- One six-inch round cake of the day, donated by La Brioche bakery in Hyde Park.

    Stephen Cotter -- Complimentary dinner for two, donated by Hyde Park's Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop restaurant.
