Volunteer opportunity will benefit public-housing residents

The University Community Service Center (UCSC) is sponsoring Service Night and Day, a volunteer opportunity benefiting public-housing residents, followed by an evening of entertainment, on Saturday, Jan. 13.

All members of the University community are welcome to participate in the event. The day will be spent painting and restoring apartments for the Chicago Housing Authority. Work on the apartments will be followed by lunch, and participation in the service day will entitle volunteers to free entrance that evening to a night of entertainment sponsored by UCSC and Student Government. The evening event will feature rock and jazz bands, a cappella groups and poetry slams.
