    Applications being accepted for ombudsperson

    Beginning Monday, Jan. 15, applications will be accepted for the position of student ombudsperson for the 1996-97 academic year. The term of office will be from summer quarter 1996 through spring quarter 1997.

    The ombudsperson is a part-time, salaried official of the University appointed by the president to investigate students' complaints without superseding the regular remedial processes of the University. Marc Blitz, the current ombudsperson, will meet with prospective applicants to discuss the position between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the Office of the Student Ombudsperson in the basement of Reynolds Club.

    Application materials and recommendation forms will be available beginning Monday, Jan. 15, in the Office of the Dean of Students in the University, Administration 219. Applications are due Friday, Feb. 9. For more information, call 702-7769.
