Wyler holiday greeting cards available through December

Proceeds benefit playroom for hospitalized children

Holiday greeting cards designed by patients at Wyler Children's Hospital are available for purchase now through the month of December. Proceeds will be used to purchase toys and educational materials for the Wyler playroom.

Three designs are available -- Santa, Snowman and Snowflake Surrounded by Children. Patients at Wyler range from toddlers to teenagers, and many suffer from cancer, liver disease, burns or other serious medical problems.

"Buying these cards directly benefits the young patients at Wyler Children's Hospital," said Karen Bennett, Child Life Specialist. "It's a wonderful way to celebrate the season of giving."

The cards are printed on glossy stock and contain a printed holiday message; on the back of each card is the name of the child artist. Each box of 20 cards is $11. Groups or companies that purchase more than five boxes will receive a 10 percent discount and may have a personalized message printed on the cards for a nominal fee.

The printing of the cards was donated by the Jel Sert Company, makers of Wyler's Drink Mix, Fla-Vor-Aid, Fla-Vor-Ice, Pop-Ice and Mondo Fruit Squeezers products.

Cards may be purchased in the Child Life & Family Education Department on the lower level of Wyler Children's Hospital, Room C-10. To order by phone with Visa, MasterCard or American Express, call 702-6481.
