Banner Night offers dinner, conversation with Court actors

Dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant followed by a performance of On the Verge, or The Geography of Yearning, is in store for participants in Court Theatre's upcoming Banner Night on Friday, Dec. 1.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at Tuttaposto, Chicago's original Mediterranean taverna. Guests will then be transported to Court Theatre for the 8 p.m. performance of Eric Overmyer's comedic time-travel adventure about three Victorian women who yearn to discover the last uncharted piece of the globe. Members of Court's artistic staff will join Banner Night guests for conversation during dinner, and guests will have the opportunity to meet the actors after the show. Transportation back to Tuttaposto will be provided.

"Our Banner Nights offer a unique opportunity for downtown Chicago office workers and residents to enjoy dinner at a popular restaurant, a Court production, then enlightening conversation with the actors afterward," said Court Artistic Director Charles Newell. "It's affordable, stimulating and convenient."

Tickets for Court Theatre's Dec. 1 Banner Night are $60 per person, which includes dinner, theater ticket and transportation. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 753-4472.

Performances of On the Verge continue through Sunday, Dec. 10.
