Obituary: Estelle Stearn

Estelle Stearn (A.B.'57, A.B.'61), Manager of Contracts and Subsidiary Rights at the Press, died Oct. 13 at her home after a yearlong illness. She was 64.

In 1963, Stearn joined the University staff in the Committee on Social Thought. She moved to the Press in 1968 and served as manager of the contracts department throughout her publishing career. She was made a member of the Press's executive committee in 1983.

Stearn received two bachelor's degrees from the University, the first in 1957 in the general division and the second in 1961 in economics.

She is survived by a brother, Kenneth; a sister, Sonia Goldstein; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Stearn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
