    Gottschalk memorial service

    A memorial service for Fruma Gottschalk, Associate Professor Emeritus in Slavic Languages & Literatures, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in Bond Chapel. Gottschalk died July 23. She was 87.

    Gottschalk joined the University faculty as Lecturer in Russian in 1958 and became Assistant Professor in 1963 and Associate Professor in 1967. During this time, she also worked for the Graduate School of Education, coordinating the M.A.T. program in Russian. She retired in 1977.

    She is survived by a son, Alexander, a former professor at Chicago who now teaches at Michigan State. Her husband, Louis, Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in History, died in 1975.
