    Service for Singer April 26

    A memorial service for Milton Singer (Ph.D.'40), the Paul Klapper Professor Emeritus in the College and in Anthropology, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in Bond Chapel. One of the nation's foremost scholars of India, Singer died Dec. 5 in his Hyde Park home. He was 82.

    Speaking at the service will be S. Chandrasekhar, the Morton D. Hull Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in Astronomy & Astrophysics; James Fernandez, Professor in Anthropology; Ralph Nicholas, the William Rainey Harper Professor in Anthropology; and Susanne Rudolph, the William Benton Distinguished Service Professor in Political Science.

    Singer is survived by his wife, Helen, and a sister.
