Dial 1 for calls outside 312 area

As of Saturday, April 1, a 1 must be inserted when dialing long-distance and 708 numbers from campus phones. When dialing a number in the 708 area code, for example, callers will need to dial 9-1-708, followed by the phone number. When calling long-distance, callers will need to dial their long-distance access code, followed by 1, then the area code and phone number.
