    Dissertation award goes to U of C grad

    Chicago graduate Stathis Kalyvas has received the 1994 Distinguished Dissertation Award in the field of social sciences. Kalyvas received his Ph.D. in political science from the University in 1993.

    His dissertation is titled Religious Mobilization and Party Formation: Confessional Parties and the Christian Democratic Phenomenon.

    The award, which includes a $1,000 honorarium, is presented by the Council of Graduate Schools and University Microfilms International.
