    Hospitals offering discount heart screening

During February -- Heart Month -- the Hospitals is offering a $45 heart screening, with a $5 discount for University faculty and staff members.

The screening includes a cholesterol profile, a body-fat analysis, a lifestyle analysis and a submaximal exercise test or resting EKG, plus a personalized report with recommendations for reducing the risk of heart disease.

The screening isn't just for those at high risk for heart disease. "We screen people who wish to modify their lifestyles, and healthy, young individuals who want to see where their risks lie," said Kim Iaffaldano, Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation & Wellness at the Hospitals.

The screening takes about an hour. All test results are compiled in a personalized information packet. Participants can receive their results either at an educational seminar or by mail.
