Applications now being accepted for 1995-96 student ombudsperson
Applications are being accepted for the position of student ombudsperson for the 1995-96 academic year.
The ombudsperson is a part-time, salaried official of the University appointed by the president to investigate and help resolve problems when ordinary University avenues of resolution fail or prove inefficient. The ombudsperson should be a registered degree candidate with a superior academic record. Andrew Varcoe, the current ombudsperson, will meet with prospective applicants to talk about the position between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Office of the Student Ombudsperson in the basement of Reynolds Club.
Applications from individual students are welcome, as are nominations from students or faculty members. Among undergraduates, preference will be given to students entering their senior year in 1995-96.
Applications should take the form of a letter and be accompanied by at least three letters of recommendation. All application materials should be submitted to the Office of the Dean of Students in the University, Administration 219, by Friday, Feb. 10.
