Comptroller's Office to reduce operations during holidays

The Comptroller's Office -- including the Bursar's Office, the Payroll Department and Accounts Payable -- will reduce operations during the holidays.

The Bursar's Office will be closed from Monday, Dec. 26, through Monday, Jan. 2, except for the following essential services:

_ Cashier operation will be open from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, through Friday, Dec. 30, to accept departmental deposits only. No check-cashing service or student-payment processing will be provided until Tuesday, Jan. 3. The overnight depository located outside the office will be available to students and departments during the holiday period.

The Thillen's check-cashing truck will be located in the parking lot at 55th Street and Ellis Avenue from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, to cash employee biweekly paychecks.

_ Check distribution will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, to permit departments to pick up monthly payroll and accounts-payable checks. The Bursar's Office will not cash monthly paychecks on Dec. 30.

The Payroll Department will follow its normal schedule except on Friday, Dec. 30, when the department will close at 1 p.m. However, independent-contractor payments and monthly salary advances will not be processed during the holiday period.

The Accounts Payable Department will be closed from Monday, Dec. 26, through Monday, Jan. 2. All nonsalary disbursements (i.e., direct-payment vouchers, independent-contractor payment requests, petty-cash reimbursements and travel advances/reimbursements) received by Accounts Payable before noon on Thursday, Dec. 15, will be available for distribution at the Bursar's Office no later than Friday, Dec. 23. Nonsalary disbursements not picked up by 1 p.m. Dec. 23 may be picked up in the Bursar's Office between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30.

Nonsalary disbursement documents received after the Dec. 15 deadline will not be available for distribution until after the holiday period.
