    Kenneth Hope has been appointed Assistant Dean and Director of Divisional Research Administration. Hope's responsibilities will include administration of the grants and contracts process in the Social Sciences Division, space planning, capital planning, the divisional Visiting Committee, the Inaugural Lectures and the annual Dean's Symposium.

    Hope was a co-founder of the Fellows Program of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and he was director of the program from 1982 to 1992. He most recently was a consultant with the Feltre School in Evanston, Ill. He has served on numerous community, arts, culture and education panels and selection committees, including those of the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the U.S. Department of Education. He received his B.S. in 1970 from the University of Wisconsin and his M.A. in 1972 and his Ph.D. in 1975 from Indiana University.

    He succeeds Mary Brandon, who is now Associate Dean in the Law School.
