    Recycling program expanded

logo Think before you sink that piece of paper in the trash can -- chances are good it's now fit for recycling.

Beginning this week, junk mail, magazines, envelopes and a host of other paper products can be dumped in the white bags already provided by UCRecycle for the collection of white paper.

The following recyclable materials are acceptable for disposal in the white bags:

_ White and light-colored paper (except brown and neon colors, including calculator tapes)

_ Computer paper (white and green)

_ Magazines, catalogs and bound journals (OK if labels are affixed)

_ Junk mail and slick paper

_ Envelopes (including windows, but excluding brown)

Clips, staples and light-colored Post-it notes (no neon) may remain on paper. Do not include paper that is soiled.

Cardboard recycling will be expanded as well. Call UCRecycle at 702-3415 or e-mail jc56@midway.uchicago.edu for information on participating buildings.
