Arrest made in series of robberies

A suspect has been charged with three counts of armed robbery in a series of robberies in Hyde Park committed by a lone woman from February through May.

Police arrested Carolyn Watson of the 6100 block of St. Lawrence Avenue on May 26. She was apprehended driving a car that matched the description of the one used in the latest incidents. She was armed at the time of her arrest. Police recovered a .38-caliber revolver and property taken in some of the robberies. As of press time, three victims had identified her.
