Construction to begin on 59th Street bridge

Southbound traffic on Lake Shore Drive will be rerouted to Cornell Drive during rehabilitation of the historic bridge at Lake Shore Drive and 59th Street. Signs for the detour will be posted. The northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive will remain open.

Construction is scheduled to begin by the end of June and be completed by the end of 1994.
