Three of the incidents were on or near the Midway Plaisance; one incident was in the 5100 block of Greenwood Avenue, and the most recent incident was at 54th Street and Greenwood Avenue.

In each instance the offender was armed and the victims were women. The offender was described as African-American, 25 to 30 years old, 5'4" to 5'9" and 120 to 130 pounds, with a slim build. In some of the incidents, a car was used; in the latest incident, the car was described as a mid-1980s red compact station wagon.
