Join President Sonnenschein in 'Bike for Fun'

Students, faculty and staff are invited to join President Sonnenschein and other members of the community for "Bike for Fun" along the lakefront on Saturday, May 14.

Riders will assemble at 10 a.m. in the park in front of Shoreland Hall, 5454 South Shore Drive, and will depart at 10:30 a.m. They will travel north along the lakefront to North Pier, where they can tour the Bicycle Museum of America and have refreshments, all free of charge. Riders should bring locks.

The Bicycle Museum of America -- the only museum of its kind -- features bicycles dating from the mid-1800s up to the present.

"Bike for Fun" will be assisted by the University of Chicago Velo Club, Art's Cycle & Hobby Shop on 55th Street and Wheels & Things in Harper Court. Rental bicycles are available from Wheels & Things with a minimum of 24 hours' notice; call 493-4326.

Registration is not necessary for "Bike for Fun." In case of inclement weather on the day of the ride, call the Student Activities Line at 702-9559 for information on any change in plans.
