Motet Choir to perform on Good Friday

A concert of sacred a cappella music will be performed by the University's Motet Choir as part of Rockefeller Memorial Chapel's Good Friday observances. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, April 1.

The 35-member choir will perform music of the 16th through 20th centuries, including works by Renaissance composers Orlando di Lasso and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, who are being recognized throughout the world this year on the 400th anniversary of their deaths. The choir will also sing a newly commissioned motet, a setting of Psalm 23 by Rami Levin, who received her Ph.D. in music from the University in 1991.

Tickets for the concert are $3 and will be available at the door. For more information, call 702-6063.
