    Two University policy manuals now on reserve at libraries

    Two University policy reference manuals are now accessible to all staff members through the University libraries. University Human Resources Management has placed copies of Personnel Policy Guidelines on reserve in Crerar, Harper and Regenstein libraries, and the Comptroller's Office has similarly placed copies of the Financial Accounting System (FAS) manual on reserve.

    "While all managers have personal copies of these manuals, putting them on reserve makes it convenient for all employees to refer to them," said Henry Webber, Associate Vice President for Administration.

    Personnel Policy Guidelines provides detailed descriptions of personnel policies that apply generally throughout the University. The manual, which is issued as a reference guide for managerial and supervisory staff, covers in greater detail the topics listed in the University Employee Handbook.

    The FAS manual provides a formal description of the University's financial accounting system. It aids account administrators, University accounting staff and other personnel in dealing with departmental budgets, grants and payroll materials.

    The FAS manual is listed on reserve under Chicago University, Comptroller's Office; Personnel Policy Guidelines is listed under Chicago University, Human Resources. Employees may also ask for copies by their reserve numbers. The reserve numbers for each location are:

    _ Regenstein -- FAS Manual, YC 4913; Personnel Policy, YC 4912;

    _ Harper -- FAS Manual, YC 5727; Personnel Policy, YC 5728;

    _ Crerar -- FAS Manual, YC 70389; Personnel Policy, YC 70388.
