Traditional music featured at festivalTraditional music from all over the world will be featured at the 34th annual University of Chicago Folk Festival, which will be held from Friday, Feb. 4, through Sunday, Feb. 6. The festival is sponsored by the University of Chicago Folklore Society. Four concerts in Mandel Hall will feature music from the Andes Mountains, Ireland, Japan and Poland, as well as Cajun music, blues, old-time country singing and string-band music, and fiddling in several regional styles. Free workshops, jam sessions and dancing will take place in Ida Noyes Hall. Concert tickets range from $8 to $13 for general admission and from $5 to $9 for students, seniors and children. Tickets are on sale in Reynolds Club Bookstore Branch or by phone (Mastercard, Visa, Discover) at 702-7300. Tickets will also be sold in the Reynolds Club box office two hours before each concert.
