Chance to win airfare and more

Contributors to the University's Campaign for the United Way/Crusade of Mercy and Other Charities will have a chance to win free airfare, theater tickets, gift certificates and other prizes.

Faculty and staff who contribute to the United Way and Other Charities Campaign will automatically be eligible to win a raffle prize. The grand-prize winner of this year's raffle will receive two round-trip tickets to Tampa, Orlando or New York City, courtesy of Kiwi Airlines in conjunction with Midway Travel Services.

Many other Chicago-area businesses, including several in Hyde Park, have donated prizes for the raffle, which will be held in January. Other prizes include two tickets to a Chicago Bulls game; three $100 gift certificates donated by University Computing Organizations; a pair of tickets to "A Delicate Balance," which will open Feb. 13 at Court Theatre; and gift certificates from restaurants, bookstores and other businesses in Hyde Park.

To contribute to the University's United Way/Crusade of Mercy and Other Charities Campaign, simply fill out and return either the yellow or the blue card included in the campaign information sent to all employees. Gifts may be made to the United Way/Crusade of Mercy or to a specific charity. Options include payroll deduction or making a cash contribution. Employees who have not received a pledge card should call Human Resources at 702-9600.
