    Sing-along 'Messiah' to benefit homeless

The Fifth Annual Messiah Sing and Benefit will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Hyde Park Union Church. The sing-along concert is a fundraiser for three South Side homeless shelters.

Joined in performance by an orchestral ensemble and professional soloists, the audience will sing the choruses from Handel's "Messiah."

Because the cost of the concert is underwritten by corporate and individual sponsors, all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the homeless shelters. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children under 12. Last year's concert raised more than $4,000.

The Messiah Sing is co-sponsored by Hyde Park Union Church and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, under the auspices of the Hyde Park and Kenwood Interfaith Council.
