Social Sciences faculty members to lecture

Lorraine Daston, Professor in History, and Michael Dawson, Associate Professor in Political Science, will speak at the autumn session of the Social Sciences Dean's Inaugural Lecture Series. The session will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Tea Room of the Social Science Research Building.

Daston will present "A History of the Cognitive Emotions: Curiosity, Wonder, and the Study of Nature in Early Modern Europe," and Dawson will present "Hope and Despair: Competing Visions of Race and American Citizenship."
