    Academic calendar change made

The academic calendar for the Autumn Quarter 2009 has changed. Classes will begin one day later than previously announced, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in observance of Yom Kippur, which falls on Monday, Sept. 28.

This change follows the recommendation of the Registrar’s Advisory Committee and follows similar actions in the recent past. As is the case for Winter Quarter (when Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed) and Spring Quarter (when Memorial Day is observed), one Monday class of instruction will be missed.

Provost Thomas Rosenbaum and Kimberly Goff-Crews, Vice President and Dean of Students, informed the University community of the change in a Monday, Dec. 22 campus-wide e-mail.
