    Comptroller reduces service for holidays


    The Comptroller’s Office will reduce operations from Friday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Jan. 2.

    The Payroll Department will follow its normal schedule, except for Friday, Dec. 26, when it will close at 1 p.m. Independent contractor payments and monthly salary advances will not be processed during the holiday period.

    All non-salary disbursements (e.g., direct payment vouchers, independent contractor payment requests, petty cash, employee reimbursements and travel advances and reimbursements) that require payment by Wednesday, Dec. 31 must be received prior to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 and will be available for distribution no later than Tuesday, Dec. 23 at the Bursar’s Office.

    All electronic payments that need to be processed for December 2008 must be received no later than Friday, Dec. 19.

    The Central Procurement Services office must receive purchase requests (Central Procurement Services Form 100) that require processing before Wednesday, Dec. 31 by no later than Friday, Dec. 5. Purchase-order related invoices that require payment by Wednesday, Dec. 31 must be in the Central Procurement office no later than Friday, Dec. 12.

    The Office of the Bursar will temporarily reduce services from Wednesday, Dec. 24 to Friday, Jan. 2.

    Tuition and Billing services will be open Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. but will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 25 through Friday, Jan. 2. During the closing, tuition and fee payments may be placed in the overnight depository or sent to the bank lockbox address on the billing statement.

    Cashiers in the Bursar’s Office will provide full services from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, but the office will close on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26. On Monday, Dec. 29, Tuesday, Dec. 30 and Wednesday, Dec. 31, cashiers will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. only to process departmental deposits. During these days, the cashiers will not provide any other services such as check cashing, student payment processing or the sale of postage stamps. The office will close Thursday, Jan. 1 and Friday, Jan. 2 before regular operations resume Monday, Jan. 5.

    Check distribution will provide full services on Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. but will close Thursday, Dec. 25 through Tuesday, Dec. 30. On Wednesday, Dec. 31, Check distribution will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. only to disburse biweekly, monthly payroll and accounts payable checks. Any checks not picked up by 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 may be picked up Monday, Jan. 5.

    Student Loan Administration will be open 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, and then will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 25 through Friday, Jan. 2.

    Regular operations for the Comptroller’s and Bursar’s offices will resume Monday, Jan. 5.
