Peirce to visit campus to promote new film
Kimberly Peirce (A.B. ’90) will answer questions following a screening of her new film Stop-Loss at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the Max Palevsky Cinema. The film stars Ryan Phillippe as a young Iraqi war veteran who returns home, only to be disrupted by a stop-loss order from the Army. Peirce co-wrote and directed the 1999 film, Boys Don’t Cry, starring Hilary Swank, who won an Oscar for best actress for her lead role in the film. Seating for the event is on a first-come, first-served basis, but reservations may be made by calling (312) 840-7966.
