Correction

In the Thursday, Nov. 2 Chronicle, the article “Historical appointment of Marshall to high court shapes speaker series” gave an incorrect date for the court appointment of Thurgood Marshall made by President John Kennedy. Kennedy appointed Marshall to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1961. The Chronicle regrets the error.
