A valued view of their work

South-African artist William Kentridge (center) critiques the art installation created by Zach Cahill (far right), an M.F.A. student in Visual Arts. On Monday, Kentridge toured the Midway Studios, where he commented on many of the students’ current work. Kentridge, who is this year’s Marjorie Kovler Visiting Fellow, also received the Rosenberger Medal on Tuesday. Established in 1917, the medal honors outstanding achievement in the creative and performing arts and is one of the highest honors the University bestows. Kentridge, whose artistic career has moved between the media of film, drawing and theater, is a Johannesburg native.
