    CUIP fosters tech-savvy students


      
    Benjamin Lorch, Managing Director of CUIP, joins a group of students from Woodlawn Community School, who attended the program’s culminating Internet fair at King Preparatory High School on the city’s South Side. CUIP teaches Chicago Public Schools students how to use Internet technology, including the development of their own Web sites.

    Don York, the Horace B. Horton Professor in Astronomy & Astrophysics and the College, who established the Chicago Public Schools University of Chicago Internet Project (center), joins Benjamin Lorch, Managing Director of CUIP, to review a Price Elementary School student’s Web site on the value of water.
