    Electing to be active

Students who are residents of the Shoreland Hall rose early Tuesday, Nov. 2, to vote at this campus polling place. University students, including those who are members of the University of Chicago Democrats and the College Republicans, have been active in the presidential campaigns, registering new voters on campus and traveling to the swing states in the Midwest, such as Wisconsin and Ohio, to go door-to-door asking for votes for their candidates. Others have volunteered for phone banks or have sponsored get-out-the-vote activities and debate-watching parties.
