At Chicago Scav Hunt, there’s a method to the madness

The 18th annual University Scavenger Hunt concluded Sunday, May 9, when judges awarded final points to the competing teams. The hunt, which began Thursday, May 6, when the 282-item list was posted online, unleashed annual antics on campus and elsewhere. At the Judgment Day activities, Ian Huisken and Cristina Romagnoli try to repair an electro magnet motor before the judging.

Judges assess an “a dough-by car,” a car on wheels with a body made from dough.

Douglas Diamond successfully enacts the Tesla coil experiment, powering a small personal device by making contact with the charged electronic coil.

Sara Huntsman adjusts her team’s “planetary observatory” before the judging.
