After raising $1 billion, Chicago convenes

The third annual Chicago Convenes, a special event to recognize the generosity of University alumni and friends in the Chicago Initiative—which reached $1 billion of its $2 billion goal—kicked off at International House.

This year, President Randel bestowed the University of Chicago Medal on Life Trustee Marion Musser Lloyd (above), an honor of the highest order.

In addition, 107 individuals, including Life Trustee David Rockefeller (above), were recognized for their gifts of $1 million or more and inducted into the Harper Society Founders Circle.

Capping the day’s events was a festive dinner in Rockefeller Memorial Chapel (left), which crews transformed into an elegant dining hall (right).
