    Comptroller, Bursar offices reduce operations during holiday season


    During the holidays, the Comptroller’s Office, except for its Payroll Department, will reduce operations between Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

    Also, the Office of the Bursar will reduce its operations between Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

    The Payroll Department will follow its normal schedule with the following exceptions: Payroll will be closed Friday, Dec. 26, and Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, and will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

    Independent contractor payments, travel reimbursements and monthly salary advances will not be processed during the holiday period.

    The Non-salary Disbursement Department will be closed during the entire holiday period. All non-salary disbursements, such as direct payment vouchers, independent contractor payment requests, petty cash, employee reimbursements, and travel advances and reimbursements, received prior to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, will be available for distribution no later than Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Bursar’s Office. All non-salary disbursements received after 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, will be available Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.

    Central Procurement Services will be closed Friday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2004. Normal hours will resume at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.

    To assure payment of invoices and purchase request processing by Wednesday, Dec. 31, all University departments must submit purchase orders to Central Procurement Services no later than Friday, Dec. 5.

    Invoices to be paid by Wednesday, Dec. 31, must be received by Central Procurement Services by Friday, Dec. 12, to assure payment is completed and posted to its proper FAS account.

    Tuition and billing (student services) will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2004. During the closing, tuition and fee payments may be placed in the overnight depository or sent to the bank lock box address on the billing statement. The Student Loan Administration will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

    Cashier operations will only be available for processing departmental deposits from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, Monday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Dec. 30, and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

    During the reduction of operations, cashiers will not provide other services such as check cashing, student payment processing or sale of postage stamps. Regular operations will resume Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.

    Check distribution will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 31, for payroll and accounts payable check distribution.

    Any checks not picked up by 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, may be picked up Wednesday, Dec. 31.
