Employees may change benefit plans Nov. 7 to 17

The number of benefits-eligible employees participating in the 2004 Open Enrollment process is expected to be the highest number in recent years at the University. Participation is estimated to have increased nearly 10 percent over the past six years, resulting from incremental hiring.

The Open Enrollment period is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 through Monday, Nov. 17.

This is the only time of the year when employees may change their medical and dental plan enrollments and add dependents for reasons other than a “qualifying event.”

For more information about the Open Enrollment process, visit the UHRM Web site at: hr.uchicago.edu.

To assist employees in understanding benefits programs and plan changes, University Human Resources Management will offer two seminars.

The first will be at noon, Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Biological Sciences Learning Center, 924 E. 57th St., and the second seminar will be offered at noon on Monday, Oct. 27, in the Cloister Club in Ida Noyes Hall, 1212 E. 59th St.
